The Pink Patch Project
The Pink Patch Project is an innovative public awareness campaign aimed at highlighting the fight against breast cancer while supporting local breast cancer research and service organizations.
From October 1st through October 31st, officers of the Austin ISD Police Department are authorized to wear a special pink version of the Department’s shoulder patch on-duty. During this time—and while supplies last—the pink patch will be available for “purchase” through donations to the Breast Cancer Resource Center of Texas (BCRC).
BCRC is a local nonprofit providing programs and services free of charge to anyone affected by breast cancer, regardless of income, ethnicity, education, sexual orientation, or social support. By participating in the Pink Patch Project, community members help raise awareness, support vital services, and contribute to the ongoing fight against breast cancer.
