Miranda Hoffman is the artist behind the beautiful art bra, “Armour: The Armor of Love.” Miranda loves to design and paint, and is a professional graphic design artist. After graduating from Baylor University, she moved back to Austin and currently works as a Marketing Coordinator and Graphic Designer.
This is Miranda’s first year as an Art Bra artist and she is honored to have her art bra chosen for BCRC’s Art Bra Austin Silent Auction.
“Armour: The Armor of Love”
Miranda wanted to create something that looked beautiful and strong. The inspiration behind her piece is glamour, love and armor. In her own words, she explains, “I wanted to take jewelry that we, as women, often adorn ourselves with, and create a design that wraps the body to transform our beauty into something powerful.” The connections of the chains resemble, in a very delicate way, the chain metal that a woman going off to battle would wear to protect the body she’s learned to love.
“Armour: The Armor of Love” was created from a strapless bra. She fashioned additional loops on the inside of the bra. These loops are used for jump rings to hold the chains that wrap from the front to the back, and down the back for additional detailing. The front of the art bra was then decorated in a beautiful pattern of gold, teal, and black rhinestones.
