Courtney Lasater is both a model and artist for this year’s Art Bra Austin. A self-proclaimed overachiever, Courtney was originally diagnosed Stage IIB in June 2011 at age thirty, and is now a Stage IV Warrior. She is in residential home sales and loves the challenge of finding someone their dream home. Courtney has been surrounded by some amazing women to help carry her through the tough days, and credits her “most amazing husband” for being there by her side, every step of the way. When asked why she decided to participate in Art Bra Austin again this year, Courtney said is was a no-brainer. “The Breast Cancer Resource Center is near and dear to my heart. They have been there guiding me through doctors appointments, surgeries, late night questions, venting episodes and more. They have introduced me to the most amazing women – women who have been through the fire together – women that have shaped my life in ways they’ll never know. Candidly, I don’t know how people without a “BCRC” make it. They help you keep putting one foot in front of another, while managing to have a pretty good time!”
“Tough As Nails” The design of Courtney’s art bra depicts the strength and determination of every survivor and warrior. She was inspired by the women she’s met throughout the struggle and describes them as the toughest women she knows – they truly are Tough as Nails.
