What do you get when you cross an Austin School District employee and a 2nd degree Black belt in Karate with a part-time costume designer? You get Jeanie Moreno, a talented and creative mother of 3 grown sons who gets inspired by theater and the glamour of Hollywood. Jeanie has always been mesmerized by costumes, especially period and fantasy pieces. This is Jeanie’s first time participating as an Art Bra Artist and we couldn’t be more thrilled to showcase her beautiful piece.
Jeanie created her bra in honor of her friend and Art Bra Model, Angie Garza. “Watching her deal with breast cancer with strength, dignity and grace has been very inspirational,” Jeanie says, “She is an amazing woman and I would only hope to be half as strong as she has been in the face of this devastating illness.”
Using a pre-constructed corset, pink fluffy trim, flower appliques, wired ribbon, sequin ribbon, feathers, rhinestones, jewels and stones, Jeanie created a pink, black and white corseted bra that harkens back to Hollywood glamour. She hand sewed and glued all the elements in place to finish this flirty and feminine design.
“I created this bra for Angie because I want to her know that although she bears the physical and mental scars of breast cancer, she is beautiful inside and out,” says Jeanie.
